Home Alone
After much soul searching, Bri decided she needed to talk to her husband. The ghost of her childhood would probably haunt her for the rest of her life. Nevertheless, now it was time to face her demons. At least that’s how she felt when she left the office. Now that she was relaxing at home, she wasn’t quite sure. It was difficult for her to explain her feelings, which is why she usually didn’t. Briann Jennings did exactly what she wanted to do, plain and simple. Any man who wanted to be in her world was just gonna have to learn to cope with it.
Bri relaxed on her comfortable chaise lounge for hours as she tried to make sense of her life. So many thoughts were going through her mind, all of which came back to, Why did I get married? The question almost startled her, but it was a damn good question. Briann never planned on getting married; she never planned to turn her life over to a man like her mother did. Jason broke down defenses in her that she wasn’t even consciously aware of. Looking at the clock, it read 9:55 p.m. Bri yawned, not even realizing it was that late. She didn’t recall hearing Jason come in.
Getting up from the couch, she made her way up the spiral staircase with plans of making love to her husband. Sex was the great equalizer; her plan was to put that good shit on him then lie in his arms and talk until they came to an arrangement that worked for both of them. Bri didn’t think she could fully consent to what Jason was asking, but she did understand his point of view which was half the battle. When she entered their bedroom, it was just as quiet as the rest of the house. Going into the ensuite, she found it empty as well. Bri pushed the button on the security system to view the garage and the circular driveway only to see Jason’s car wasn’t there. At this point, Bri was seeing red. See, this the bullshit I be talking about, I’m not gon’ go through it, not me, she thought to herself. Picking up her cell phone, she sent him a text, dropped it on her bed then headed to the shower. She refused to be played, especially by her husband.
Thirty minutes later, she was pulling her shiny new GSF Lexus out of her driveway. With her brain moving a mile a minute, she pushed the 467-horsepower to the limit; she had to get away. Bri cursed herself for getting caught up. She didn’t want to be where Jason was or even where he wasn’t; she refused to let her nerves be plucked. Shaking her head as she weaved through the streets, she started talking to herself, which was something she said she would never do, particularly behind a man. “This nigga got me all kinds of fucked up. He has no clue that I let him be the exception to MY rule, when I should have just fucked him and let his ass be.
